Handovers are common in rolling stock from daily handovers before train units enter service through to a fleet owner handover for accepting new units from the vehicle manufacturer. There are complexities with handovers and in particular redelivery handovers from one TOC (Training Operating Company) to another TOC.
A daily handover will have an audit calculation associated with it and penalty points as you proceed. It is vital to be able to track and audit all the inspections for the fleet, this is a crucial part and it is virtually impossible to run this through paper-based approaches.
